Your adventure begins with a scenic 100-mile drive through the picturesque hills of Belize. Along the way, you’ll pass vibrant Maya and Mestizo villages, lush farmlands, and rolling mountain landscapes as we head west toward the heart of the Cayo District.

We’ll cross the Mopan River via a traditional hand-cranked ferry—a unique local experience—and arrive at Xunantunich, one of Belize’s most spectacular Maya archaeological sites. Here, you’ll explore ancient plazas, ceremonial courtyards, and towering temples, including El Castillo, which rises 130 feet above the plaza. Climb to the top for breathtaking views of the surrounding jungle and even the Guatemalan border.

Learn about the site’s rich history through beautifully preserved friezes, temple carvings, and an on-site visitor center that brings the ancient Maya world to life.

After a hearty lunch in the charming town of San Ignacio, we’ll journey back along the scenic Hummingbird Highway, making a refreshing stop at St. Herman’s Blue Hole National Park. This inland limestone sinkhole is surrounded by dense jungle and filled with cool, turquoise water—perfect for a relaxing afternoon swim.
